Power over your past.

It’s long been studied that difficult or traumatic experiences can live within the conscious or unconscious mind— and affect us in ways we may not even realize.

What’s also being discovered, or should I say— reawakened— is the ability to release those feelings and energies FROM the mind/body in order to come back into peace and expansiveness.

How many times have you felt defined by your difficult experiences? How many times have you wondered if certain pervasive patterns in your life will end? Unfortunately, the Western world wants us to believe that once we are labeled with a disease or identify with a problem, we can never heal. What I believe is that we can not only heal, but we can create a life even BETTER than where we came from.

Acknowledging feelings and letting them move out of the body is a big part of this— but so are simple things like breath, mindfulness and the ability to trust. Once you learn that your body holds WITHIN IT the key to your happiness and fulfillment, everything changes and the power comes back into your hands.

Here are three steps to begin the process of releasing stored or stuck emotions/energy:

1— Acknowledge it’s there! You are not broken and you are not stuck. You are being protected by a certain pattern in your body. Your brain is very smart to do that, but you are allowed to change it.

2— When you feel the pattern or emotion, breathe into that space. Allow yourself to feel what’s there.

3— TRUST that you can create new neuropathways every day, every time you CHOOSE to act or respond in a different way. You’ve got this.

Your trauma doesn’t have to keep your stuck. Your power is always going to be stronger than that. Trust in the incredible power of your mind. You can choose a different way.
