Teach what you love.

I have taught yoga classes for a long time, and I have loved doing so. But what I’ve come to realize form those experiences is that the people walking through the door weren’t necessarily there for the yoga— they were there for the connection and the community that the class brought.

Yoga has taught me many things. It’s taught me to be okay with where I am, to love myself through my mistakes, and to trust my journey & all of its unseen forces. But what it’s taught me the most is to show up and exist as my truest and most authentic self.
_______

Sometimes we need someone to recognize our worthiness so that we recognize it on our own. This moment happened for me many years back, when after class, a middle-aged woman came up to me and said: “I have taken lots of yoga classes, and your class is by far my favorite.”

In that moment I had so much gratitude and emotion, and realized that the vessel of that class was allowing me to express my true nature and support others with love and connection. The human experience provides us with moments like that to remind us of our own divinity. As long as we are tapping into trust and connecting with our inner voice, that divinity will always move through us.

Your own true nature is always in there— sometimes we just need a little reminder.  //
